What is a Flowchart?

O Flowchart It is a type of diagram which has the function of representing graphically determined process or workflow. This representation is made from geometric figures and lines that connect these figures, illustrating the stages of this process, the order and the form of interaction between them.

This type of chart can be done with paper and pen or with the aid of computer programs. We will now go through step-by-step procedures for making a process flow chart in Excel.

Step 1: In the Insert, in the group Ilustrações, Click SmartArt

Step 2: In the window that will open click Process.

Step 3: Select the chart template that you want to create. In the example we will use the "Basic Process", which is the first option.

Step 4: Once the template is selected you can start editing the boxes in your flowchart.

Step 5: To add more boxes you can go to the Add Form option.

Step 6: In my Design you can change the layout and colors of the boxes in your flowchart.

Step 7: Already in the Format menu you can change the shape, the style, the fill, and organize the boxes.

Step 8: Dropping the mouse cursor over some form of the Flowchart group will show the meaning of that particular shape in a flowchart.

Step 9: You can customize how you want your flow chart to best represent the process you want.

Creating the flowchart in Excel is very handy and allows you to make changes later if needed. And now you already know how to create it!

    I could not see the post deeply, but the tool I used to draw flow charts was MS Visio. I confess that although it is not complicated, for simple purposes I like Excel more.
